Even though February is over, HEART month continues here!  We need your support at the Anthony Bates Foundation as we carry-on with promoting, educating and raising awareness of HCM; the leading killer of young athletes in this country.  The ABF Quest 2020 seeks support to screen 1,000,000 youth in the next 10 years.   We need your help!

About ABF

The Anthony Bates Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization formed in 2002.  We are dedicated to save young lives through early detection of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.  The Anthony Bates Foundation is actively promoting public outreach programs through education and awareness for the need to provide heart screening events for our youth.  We offer training for groups that would like to provide their own events and/or The Anthony Bates Foundation will coordinate events in your area.  Our goal is to promote heart health education and awareness of HCM.

The Anthony Bates Foundation (ABF) believes that no parent should suffer the heartbreak of losing a child to an undiagnosed cardiac malady; we seek to eliminate preventable Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).

Mission Statement

Training for Community Heart Screenings

Anthony Bates Foundation will train your organization in all aspects of conducting ON-SITE cardiovascular screenings for young students and adults.  Using ultrasound imaging under the supervision of cardiologists provides an excellent opportunity to detect life-threatening heart abnormalities.  A student's family history of heart conditions is also taken into consideration as part of the screening process.

Our Web site Offers Many things to you!  Visit Often!

Our web-site will be dedicated to updating you on the where and when for future heart screening events.  Our next heart screening events will be in Arizona, Kansas and Texas. Watch our website for updates on each event.

Check out our new page, News Stories.  When we make the news this page will continue to be updated.

We have finished production of our first information/promotional video, "What is HCM?" and it is now available on our website.  As of early August, 2004, all of the Arizona and Kansas high schools received a complementary copy of our video.  Recently, all the Las Vegas, NV high schools nurses received our video.  Wow, only 45 more of the contiguous states to go!  Help us get the word out.  Would you like to send a copy of our video to the high school in your community?  If you would like a copy for please contact us.

Make a donation to the Anthony Bates Foundation to cover postage & continued duplication costs.  We will send you a VHS or DVD copy for your school, corporation or athletic group!

We will continue to update our event dates as the new year dates unfold.  Details will continue to be added as determined.
