SURPRISE, AZ - Every three days, a seemingly healthly child dies from suddent cardiac
arrest.  In response, an event next month has a lofty goal:  to save 100 young lives...
 
..."Only 15 percent of the youth who die from SCA are athletes," Bates said. "Everyone
has a heart, everybody deserves a heart screening."

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - A free heart screening was held Saturday at Salpointe Catholic High School.
Organizers hope it helps save local lives.The Anthony Bates Foundation and the Carondelet Health
Network teamed to offer free screenings to children from 12 years old, all the way up to 22.

Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day, CHD Day, is a national
event.  In Phoenix, AZ, a small group of mothers & fathers try to bring
awareness to these heart conditions by coming together for the
children.  This is the third annual event held in Phoenix.  Due to the
great works of Heart 2 Heart Support Group, and many sponsors,
this event is put on FREE for children of all ages.  Food, Fun & Information!
